What is UAS?
I keep seeing people talking about it, and I don't know what it is! People have been flaming the living hell out of others for bringing it up! What's the story on UAS?
<Note, I tried searching for it but the engine wouldn't let me. If you know of a forum similar to this or that explains it, post it and I'll delete my thread!> |

UAS and NR are like the bloody Voldemort of this game (only speak of them as "You-Know-What" or "That-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named").
<drops to hushed voice> UAS stands for "Unlock All Skills". It was a feature available in the Beta Weekend Events to allow players to quickly create characters with any skill sets. Many people were dismayed when the feature was not in the retail version</hushed voice> <eyes dart around to see if anyone heard the discussion of "That-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named" and flees the thread before the firestorm finishes casting> -Diomedes |

I'm casting Imagined Burden on Diomedes!
--- Anyhow, there are plenty of threads/arguments/flame wars about this, they're not hard to find. It was never really explained to me either, after reading enough UAS threads I figured it out. It really IS one of those things that isn't quite explained upfront to new people. |

UAS. Unlock All Skills.
Back during betas, they gave us a Unlock All Skills button. You checked a box when creating a PvP only character, and then you could select from every single skill in the game. It was the best PvP the game ever had, and if you don't want it, you're not a PvPer. |

I don't think that's a very fair button to press. Just make it *easier* for them to unlock the skills. For me, skills that are in Ring of Fire are put there for a reason.

Well, for the beta it made sense... because it allowed people to pvp with all the skills, since it would be impossible to unlock everything in 2 days. Also, there was no ring of fire in the beta . You would get elites from skill trainers believe it or not.

Well, since most PvPers are only interrested in PvP, beign able to unlock all the skill allows them to go into Pvp fight without the hassle of doing the PvE missions. |

There is a way using a packet modifyer to still send that option to the server when creating the char, it basically mimics the box being checked and the server still applys it.
But thats a little bit of a secret |

It was glorious though making any build you wanted to now you are stuck with one build and 3000 faction points to unlock.

OK, this is probably not the place to discuss UAS.
And Panic, bad kitty. Messing with the Guild Wars program gets you into trouble. |
